My Grannie taught me to knit when I was 4 years old and I haven’t really stopped since.
I grew up looking after my younger siblings and I’ve been looking after children ever since. I have always enjoyed making things for them using natural materials. Along with my husband, I run a biodynamic community smallholding called Velwell Orchard in the Dart Valley in Devon near the ancient wool town of Buckfastleigh.
Recently, it has become increasingly difficult to find woollen garments that don’t contain synthetic fibres, yet there is now evidence to show that toxic micro plastics from clothing are entering the food chain. I care deeply about the environment that children are growing up in and use only 100% natural wool. My garments are made with love and care and are of the highest quality.
